Pfizer, Merck press ahead with pills to treat COVID-19

There may soon be new weapons in the fight against COVID-19. Two companies, Pfizer Inc. and Merck & Co Inc, are developing oral medications to treat COVID-19.

Merck’s antiviral drug, Molnupiravir, has just been approved for use in the United Kingdom. Jamie Mauracher explains how that pill compares to Paxlovid, which Pfizer claims is showing promising results in clinical trials.
