Iraq's prime minister survives exploding drone assassination attempt
CA, 08 Nov 2021
Security forces in Baghdad are on high alert, after Iraq's Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi survived an assassination attempt at his own home on Sunday.
The attack involved the use of explosive-laden drones swooping into his house, with handout photos showing the damage, including smashed windows and doors blown off their hinges. Though Al-Kadhimi was unharmed, a number of his guards were injured.
Canada is among the nations condemning the attack and calling for calm in that country. Mike Drolet looks at Iraq's political upheaval that may have led to the attack.
