The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the 2021 Salute to Freedom gala in New York, held on the eve of Veterans Day in the US and Armistice Day in the UK, and praised the "value" of service members and their families.

The Duchess of Sussex was asked if she was proud of Harry, who served in the British military for a decade. She replied "I'm always proud of him".

It was the pair's first appearance since the 40-year-old Duchess of Sussex apologised on Wednesday for misleading the High Court in London over her recollection of the information given by her aides to the authors of an unauthorised biography about her and her husband.
