How I became a space telescope scientist
BBC, 06 Dec 2021
"The most exciting prospect of any telescope like this is… that we'll learn things about the universe that will completely surprise us."
Amber Straughn is a Nasa astrophysicist working on the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
She's part of a team preparing to send the telescope into space.
Designed to find the very first galaxies JWST is expected to be 100 times more powerful than the Hubble telescope. It costs $10bn and is the size of a tennis court.
Images from the telescope should start to reach us by Summer 2022.
