Officials from the Alberta Emergency Management Agency and Alberta Wildfire will provide and update on the Alberta wildfire situation on Tuesday.

As of Tuesday morning, Alberta Wildfire reported 78 wildfires are burning across the province — 71 of which are in the forest protection area — and 20 are out of control. Those numbers dropped all day as rainy weather moved in.

On Monday, there were 22 states of local emergency, five band council resolutions and 16 evacuation orders in place. A provincial state of emergency also remains in place.

The province said Monday that 10,872 Albertans remain displaced because of wildfire evacuation orders.
