Officials in Alberta will provide an update on the ongoing wildfire situation on Wednesday, as heavy rain has helped extinguish the raging blazes across the province.

On Tuesday, there were 22 states of local emergency, five band council resolutions and 15 evacuation orders. A provincial state of emergency also remains in place.

There are 10,655 Albertans displaced because of wildfire evacuation orders.

There are currently more than 1,120 out-of-province firefighters supporting 1,700 Alberta Wildfire firefighters. Parks Canada is sending crews that are expected to arrive later this week, and 96 firefighters from the U.S. are arriving Wednesday.
