Over the past 10 years, China's Belt and Road Initiative has managed to get countless projects off the ground worldwide and brought about socio-economic development and growth. In the face of global challenges such as climate change and environmental degradation, the greening of the BRI has become a priority and countries are now increasingly looking to China to come up with green technologies. The Hub with Wang Guan talks to Marco Lambertini, co-chair of the BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC) and special envoy of WWF. He attended a roundtable on BRI Green Development and the General Assembly of the BRIGC in Beijing held recently. He highlights the need for a "nature positive" transition that prioritizes the green agenda and he calls for more green tech transfers and exchanges. Lambertini also tells Wang Guan that the world must come up with biodegradable polymers, pointing at the moral argument for future generations.
