Construction of Greater Bay Area Hongqimen bridge nears completion after gap closes

China’s Hongqimen Bridge, which will connect Guangzhou and Zhongshan cities in Guangdong province, completed gap closure on May 21, 2023. The bridge is part of the Nansha-Zhongshan Expressway Project, which is aimed at facilitating the interconnectivity between core cities in the Greater Bay Area. The project is expected to be completed by 2024.
