An influential U.S.-based research group is warning that Canada is at a heightened risk of polarization and political dysfunction.

The group indicates several factors, including challenging economic conditions and a declining trust in traditional media, could contribute.

All of these factors underline the importance and value of the country's provincial and federal political leaders to reach cross-partisan solutions to manage the risks in what is likely to be a turbulent 2023.
