Three Amigos summit: Trudeau, Biden and Obrador speak after trilateral meeting | LIVE
CA, 10 Jan 2023
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, U.S. President Joe Biden and Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador are expected to speak with reporters on Tuesday following a trilateral meeting during the so-called "Three Amigos" summit in Mexico.
It's the first meeting face-to-face between Trudeau and Biden of 2023 and since the Summit of the Americas in June.
Biden's agenda has been dominated by the migratory crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border, but it is expected issues related to Canada will also likely be discussed at the president and Trudeau's own meeting earlier in the day.
Lingering trade disputes remain over dairy markets and the auto sector, and offices for the trusted-traveller program known as Nexus remain closed. Biden's delayed visit to Canada, normally one of the first foreign trips of a new president, may also be addressed.
