LIVE: US and Philippines kick off two-week joint exercises

Philippine and US military officials hold an opening ceremony to kick off their biggest annual joint military exercises in several bases around the Philippines from April 11 to April 28.

About 17,600 participants from both sides are expected to join the military exercises, which will include live-fire drills, maritime security, counterterrorism and humanitarian operations.
