The United Nations World Health Organization has declared that the Covid-19 pandemic is no longer a global health emergency. WHO director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced the decision on March 5, 2023, emphasising the lessons learned during the three-year pandemic. He also warned that even though Covid-19 is no longer a global health emergency, countries should still remain vigilant, and that an emergency could be declared again if the situation worsens.
