Lucy Letby, who has been accused of the murder of seven babies and the attempted murder of 10 others, has resumed her trial, speaking in court for the first time.

As Ben Meyers KC asked her how hard it is to cope with her situation, she became emotional and appeared to cry, saying it's "very difficult".

Prosecutors allege that the 33-year-old carried out a series of attacks on babies while she was working in the neo-natal unit at the Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 to June 2016.

She denies all the charges.
