French President Emmanuel Macron addressed the nation on Monday night in an attempt to calm anger over the controversial pension reform that he has signed into law. During his speech, he said that he had heard people's anger over raising the retirement age, but insisted that it was needed. He also said that he regretted that no consensus had been found and that he will open talks with unions about better working conditions.
