Demonstrators gathered in New York City on March 31 to protest Tsai Ing-wen's U.S. stopover as she was leaving her hotel. Tsai has planned visits to Central America countries and will transit through New York and Los Angeles as part of her trip. Protesters held signs with slogans emphasizing "one China" and "peaceful reunification." Some demonstrators vowed to maintain their protest throughout Tsai's "transit" in the United States.
