From winning a team gold medal in fencing at the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympics to leading one of the world's most prestigious organizations, he has always been a staunch supporter of the Olympic spirit and the values attached to it. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Zou Yun sat down with Thomas Bach, president of the International Olympic Committee, to look back at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and its legacy. Calling the event a "milestone," a "landmark," and a "benchmark," Bach says he has always stood out against Olympic boycott and warns against politicizing sports. He also praises President Xi Jinping for being committed to the development of sports in China, especially with 300 million Chinese doing winter sports. He looks forward to the Asian Games in Hangzhou in September and the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
