FRANCE24, 04 Nov 2022
Rights groups on Thursday have lauded the conviction of former Liberian rebel commander Kunti Kamara. Kamara was convicted in a Paris court and sentenced to life in prison for atrocities he commited during Liberia's first civil war. Kamara was found guilty of crimes against civilians between 1993 and 1994. Charges against the 47-year old, included violence against a teacher - whose heart he reportedly ate - and failing to prevent soldiers under his command from repeatedly raping two teenage girls. FRANCE 24's correspondent Sophie Lamotte tells us all about the importance of this latest judgement.
