Members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee met the press on October 23 after being elected at a plenary meeting. What is the mandate of the new leadership? How will China realize the goal of building a strong modern socialist country? And what are the priorities and characteristics of Chinese modernization? For this special edition of Dialogue, we've invited Victor Gao Zhikai, chair professor at Soochow University; Hannah Ryder, founder & CEO of Development Reimagined; Charles Liu, founder of HAO Capital and senior fellow at the Taihe Institute; and Josef Gregory Mahoney, professor of Politics at East China Normal University, to join the panel discussion.
