After years of largely ignoring the Pacific Islands, why does the U.S. suddenly look to restore its influence in the region by hosting a summit? No Cold War campaign co-founder Carlos Martinez says that China helps the region, which was left ravaged by the imperialist power, and the islands suffer from terrible poverty.
