Loblaw announces price freeze on No Name products amid soaring inflation
CA, 18 Oct 2022
Canada’s largest grocer has announced a price freeze on all of its No Name products until next year, as double-digit food inflation sends grocery bills soaring.
Loblaw Companies Ltd. says it has locked in prices of the popular house brand, which includes more than 1,500 grocery items, until Jan. 31, 2023.
Canadians have been feeling the pinch at the check-out line in the last few months. The latest Statistics Canada report found that groceries cost 10.8 per cent more in August 2022, compared to the same month the previous year.
Caryn Lieberman takes a closer look at Loblaw’s partial freeze on food prices, and whether it will help fight food inflation.
