Canada charges Chinese researcher with spying in latest row between the 2 countries

The Canadian police have charged a Chinese researcher working at Hydro-Quebec with espionage for allegedly sending trade secrets to China. The November 14, 2022, arrest of Wang Yuesheng comes after Ottawa ordered three Chinese firms to quit lithium deals with Canadian mining firms amid investigations into reports of illegal “Chinese police centres” in Canada.
