Tens of thousands of people in southern Malaysia have been forced to flee their homes after days of torrential rain resulted in flooding in several states. Officials said that four people had been killed as of March 4, 2023. More than 200 shelters have been opened in Johor state, which was among the most heavily affected areas. The Malaysian Meteorological Department has warned that the rain could continue until April in the Southeast Asian nation that is prone to flooding during the annual monsoon season.
