John Curtice, Professor of Politics at the University of Strathclyde, spoke to FRANCE 24’s François Picard about the shock resignation of Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, after 8 years in office. Sturgeon told a news conference in Edinburgh that the Scottish National Party needs to solidify and grow existing support for Scottish independence. She will stay in post until a successor has been named, leaving unanswered questions about the future of the SNP.
