Despite weeks of rumours suggesting the Toronto Raptors would be sellers at the trade deadline, the team remained surprisingly quiet on Thursday.

Toronto’s lone move was to buy, not sell: reacquiring 7'1 centre Jakob Poeltl 
from the San Antonio Spurs for a top-six protected 2024 first-round pick and two second-round picks.

This followed weeks of rumours that as many as four of the Raptors' core players could be on the move as the team looked to potentially retool in the wake of a disappointing season.

Instead, Raptors President Masai Ujiri surprised fans and NBA experts by holding onto his current team and even adding to the current roster by acquiring Poeltl.
