U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to deliver a speech during a visit to Poland to rally allies a year after Russia's assault on Ukraine, aiming to sustain a coalition that has supported Kyiv's defences.

On Monday, Biden met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv in a defiant display of Western solidarity with a country still fighting what he called “a brutal and unjust war.”

Biden spent more than five hours in Kyiv, consulting with Zelenskyy on next steps, honoring the country’s fallen soldiers and meeting with U.S. embassy staff.
