U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris will meet Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz among other world leaders during her visit to the 2022 Munich Security Conference (MSC) . This is her highest-profile foreign trip yet, as the Biden administration tries to prevent a
Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Harris is expected to arrive at the conference on Friday and also meet with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, leaders of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia and with the bipartisan U.S. congressional delegations to the security conference. She will meet Ukrainian and Polish counterparts during visits to both nations, before attending the Munich Security Conference in the southern German city on Saturday.

The Munich Security Conference will be held in person at its traditional venue in 2022 after the previous year's conference was only virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Media will not be allowed in and there will be reduced attendance. The Munich conference, launched by Western nations at the height of the Cold War to address military conflicts, takes place on February 18 - 20, 2022.
