Ukraine and Russia's first face-to-face peace talks during this war have gone nowhere. The foreign ministers of both countries held their first in-person talks since Russia started the war.

But Russia continues to demand Ukraine's surrender and any faint hope of a ceasefire quickly evaporated at the 90-minute summit.
