Trucker protests: Coutts blockade dismantled in Alberta, allowing border operations to resume
CA, 16 Feb 2022
Border operations in southern Alberta were able to resume on Tuesday after a blockade that paralyzed traffic for more than two weeks between the U.S. and Coutts, Alta., was dismantled.
Protesters had been restricting access to the main Alberta border crossing since Jan. 29, to rally against COVID-19 vaccine mandates and broader public health restrictions.
Trucks and other vehicles rolled out of the area with horns blazing once the blockade was dismantled. It comes one day after RCMP arrested 13 people and seized a cache of firearms and ammunition. Heather Yourex-West reports.
