Russian invasion 'remains distinctly possible', says Biden

Joe Biden said a Russian invasion of Ukraine remained "distinctly possible" but urged Vladimir Putin to pursue diplomacy.
Mr Biden made a direct appeal to the Russian people not to back a war in Ukraine.

On reports of Russian troops leaving positions, Mr Biden said: "That would be good but we have not verified that.

"We have not yet verified Russian units are returning to their home bases. But our analysts indicate they remain very much in a threatening position. An invasion remains distinctly possible."
