Trucker protests: RCMP gives update on expected resolution to Manitoba blockade at Emerson | LIVE
CA, 16 Feb 2022
The Canada-U.S. border crossing at Emerson, Man., remains shut down to most traffic, but the RCMP in the province said Tuesday afternoon that the blockade will end shortly and plan to provide an update Wednesday on the expected resolution.
Sgt. Paul Manaigre told 680 CJOB negotiators were in talks with organizers in an effort to get at least one lane open. He also said he was hopeful the blockade would end without the use of the Emergencies Act, which was invoked by the federal government on Monday.
