Several oil terminals have suspended operations after access roads were blocked by environmental group Just Stop Oil, inflicting extra pain on consumers on the day household energy bills have soared in price.

A spokesperson for Just Stop Oil told the Daily Telegraph the group have chosen today to protest to highlight the growing cost of living crisis driven by rising fuel costs.

"Just Stop Oil supporters have chosen to act today in recognition of the impact that our dependence on oil and gas is having on ordinary people currently suffering from the worst cost of living crisis in living memory," the organisation said.
