Following the federal government's recent advisory to avoid all non-essential travel as the Omicron COVID-19 variant spreads, Canadians have questions about what to do about planned trips.

Air travellers are being warned to carefully check their insurance coverage.

Anyone already on their trip should be covered if they obtained insurance, said Travel Secure President Martin Firestone, but those yet to travel out of the country should check with their insurer to make sure their policies aren’t voided.
