The journey of a video game controller from a Chinese factory to a store shelf in the United States is now more expensive than ever. Transport and shipping costs have skyrocketed due to a global breakdown of supply chains brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, leaving manufacturers and retailers scrambling to stock their shelves, especially ahead of the 2021 holiday season.
