50-year-old trucker Desi Wade bought his first truck in 2015, and now owns a small fleet based in Atlanta. He is grateful to the trucking industry, and credits it for allowing him turn his life around. But he also acknowledges that the job has its strains. Be it the price of fuel or the toll of being away from friends and family for long periods of time, life as a truck driver in the US is a long way from perfect.
