In the run-up to the start of the Beijing Winter Olympics on February 4, 2022, a team of Chinese scientists has been busy checking the conditions of artificial snow to be used for the event. Due to the quality of natural snow and weather variations, natural snow does not meet competition requirements, making production of artificial snow vital to the smooth running of the Games. The upcoming Games will be the second to be held in Beijing, which also hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics.
