COVID-19: Ontario to announce free rapid tests to be rolled out at grocery stores, pharmacies | LIVE
CA, 09 Feb 2022
Ontario Health Minister and Deputy Premier Christine Elliott is expected to announce details Wednesday of a planned rollout of free COVID-19 rapid antigen tests at grocery stores, pharmacies and other settings.
A government source says there will be a limit of one box of five per household per visit, though some stores may have different processes. According to reports, the government is aiming to align the handing out of tests with the next step of reopening, which occurs Feb. 21.
The next phase of reopening is expected to see the easing of more public health measures, including removing capacity limits in indoor public settings where proof of vaccination is required, permitting spectators at 50 per cent capacity for sporting events, concert venues and theatres, and increasing social gathering limits to 25 people indoors and 100 outdoors.
