Chinese forces staged joint “anti-terrorism” drills with the Russian military at the Orenburg training grounds in southwestern Russia from September 20-24, 2021. The live-fire military exercises organised by the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) involved an estimated 4,000 troops, including 500 members of China’s People’s Liberation Army.
