Biden receives COVID-19 booster shot, delivers remarks | LIVE

CA, 28 Sep 2021
U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to receive a COVID-19 booster shot on Monday, days after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) endorsed booster shots for certain high-risk groups. He will then deliver remarks.

The CDC is recommending a third Pfizer COVID-19 shot for people aged 65 and older, nursing home residents and those 50 to 64 with underlying health conditions, as well as those who live and work in at-risk settings.

The extra dose would be given at least six months past their last Pfizer shot.

All three of the COVID-19 vaccines used in the U.S. are still highly protective against severe illness, hospitalization and death, even with the spread of the extra-contagious delta variant. But only 182 million Americans are fully vaccinated, or just 55 per cent of the population.
