Despite killings and intimidation, despite the Covid pandemic, those brave young men and women clamoring for wholesale reform in the protests of 2019 never went away.  2019 exposed the same sectarian trap existing in Lebanon where a multiconfessional constitution makes friends of bitter rivals who share a stake in preserving the current power-sharing system.
