Facebook’s own internal documents show that the social media giant knows it’s harming society, said Frances Haugen, a former Facebook product manager. In her testimony before the US Senate on October 5, 2021, the whistle-blower said Facebook is more focused on profit, content virality and company growth than public safety, adding that “Facebook can change, but it’s clearly not going to do so on its own.”
