The Queen and Prince Charles plant tree ahead of Platinum Jubilee
Telegraph, 01 Oct 2021
The Queen and Prince of Wales have planted a tree to launch the official planting season for her Platinum Jubilee.
In her first public engagement since her summer break in Balmoral, the Queen wore a coat, headscarf and sturdy shoes for the appearance in a muddy Scottish field in the sunshine.
It is the first joint engagement for the Queen and Prince since a tree planting in Windsor in May, and Her Majesty's first public outing since visiting the set of Coronation Street in July.
They were joined at the Balmoral Estate’s historic cricket pavilion by pupils from Crathie Primary School, who have undertaken nature projects as part of the Queen's Green Canopy initiative, and were exploring woods in the Balmoral grounds on Friday.
