The Russia-Ukraine conflict is having direct repercussions worldwide, with supply and industrial chains disruptions, soaring food and energy prices and potential shortages. Inflation hits the Global South hard, and Latin America and Caribbean countries are already bracing themselves for a heavy storm. The Hub with Wang Guan talks to Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at the Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, and Professor Jiang Shixue, director of the Center for Latin American Studies at Shanghai University, to discuss the region's economic woes and look at how it might reverberate across vulnerable groups and industries. Panelists also tell Wang Guan what's at stake geopolitically with Russia and the U.S. pushing their respective agendas, and finally look into China's engagement in the region with the Belt & Road Initiative.
