The mayor of Buffalo, New York along with the police commissioner are expected to hold a news conference on Thursday to provide an update on the mass shooting that left 10 dead in what police are investigating as a racially-motivated hate crime.

U.S. President Joe Biden visited the scene of the shooting and called on Americans to reject the “poison of white supremacy" in a speech after meeting with families of victims.

The FBI is investigating the incident as racially-motivated hate crime. The 18-year-old suspect is a white male who had driven to the city heavily armed with an intent to target Black residents, posting a manifesto about his plan, and live streaming the assault.
