New York and Buffalo authorities are expected to provide an update Sunday on the Tops supermarket shooting that left 10 people dead and three injured.

Buffalo Police Department Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia provided a timeline of the mass shooting and said the suspect came in tactical gear and drove in from hours away.

Mayor Byron Brown said that the suspect was in custody. The 18-year-old suspect was arraigned in the evening on murder charges.

The FBI also said Saturday that the shooting was being investigated as both a hate crime and a case of racially-motivated violent extremism. Erie County Sheriff John Garcia said they were working with all law enforcement as part of the investigation, adding that the suspect was "pure evil."
