White House faces questions on federal response to recent mass shootings in Uvalde, Buffalo | LIVE
CA, 26 May 2022
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is expected to hold a briefing on Thursday, just two days after at least 19 students and two teachers were killed at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
Hours after the shooting Tuesday, U.S. President Joe Biden addressed the nation, calling again for change on gun control.
"The idea that an 18-year-old kid can walk into a gun store and buy two assault weapons - it's just wrong," he said. "Time to turn this pain into action."
It had been one week since Biden addressed another mass shooting when he travelled to Buffalo to meet with the families of 10 people killed at a grocery store there during a racially-motivated attack.
