Canadian ministers are expected to provide an update on the next steps in implementing the government's recently announced affordability plan, which includes dental, housing, and GST Credit measures.

The government had announced the plan last week and it included doubling the GST rebate cheques for six months, as well as temporary dental-care benefits for some families with young children, and an expanded housing allowance payment.

All three were initiatives the NDP had been asking for since the spring, with dental care and housing part of the supply and confidence agreement reached with the Liberal government last March.
