The driver of a school bus and two other people were injured when a 15-metre (50ft) flame tree toppled onto their vehicles in Hong Kong on September 16, 2022. The school bus, driven by a 62-year-old man, was on its way to pick up students with a female nanny, the only passenger, according to police. The bus driver suffered hand abrasions while the carer sustained leg injuries when she was hit by flying glass fragments. They were both treated at the scene, but the driver of a nearby car that was also hit by the tree was taken to hospital with an injury to his torso.
