In an interview with CGTN anchor Xu Qinduo, former Chilean Ambassador to China Jorge Heine said while the North is retreating from globalization, the South is promoting free trade. The Global South is where the big opportunities lie and where the future lies. China's Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is an excellent example of successful cooperation with the Global South. The G7, which has previously criticized and decried China's BRI, now came up with the Partnership for Global Investment and Infrastructures. The BRI is where the future lies.
