Giant panda, Xiang Xiang, celebrated her fifth birthday on June 12. Xiang Xiang was born in 2017 at Tokyo's Uneo Zoological Gardens to parents Ri Ri and Shin Shin, who were loaned to Japan in 2011 and gained wide popularity in the country. According to estimates by Japanese experts, Xiang Xiang has contributed at least 2.7 billion yuan (about $400 million) to Japan's economy, equivalent to 1.3 times the construction cost of Tokyo Skytree. Xiang Xiang is expected to return to China before the end of this year, the deadline her arrival has been postponed four times due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. #giantpanda
