Boris Johnson would fight another confidence vote, Downing Street has said, as the Prime Minister struggles to stabilise his premiership amid an ongoing wave of ministerial resignations. 

Mr Johnson told MPs at PMQs that he intends to “keep going” in order to deliver on the “colossal mandate” he was given at the 2019 general election. 

But a growing number of Tory MPs are now openly calling for Mr Johnson to quit, with some pushing for Conservative Party rules to be changed so that a second confidence vote can be held on the PM’s leadership.
